49″ Samsung Odyssey OLED (G93SC) Series 240Hz Curved Monitor Takes Gaming and Work to the Next Level for $899.99

Samsung Odyssey OLED G93SC 240Hz Monitor
Samsung’s 49-inch Odyssey OLED G93SC is a portal to another dimension, combining gaming power with productivity might. At $899.99 (down from $1,599.99) this curved giant will change how you interact with your PC whether you’re gaming or spreadsheet juggling.

This monitor is huge—47 inches wide to be exact, with a 32:9 aspect ratio that’s like two 27-inch monitors side by side. The 1800R curvature wraps around your field of view without feeling overwhelming. At 4.5mm thick at its thinnest point the metal finish is modern and almost futuristic. Weighs 28.4 pounds so you’ll need a sturdy desk. The stand allows height adjustments and tilting but no pivot would’ve been nice. A small joystick on the back makes navigating the on-screen menu a breeze but reaching the ports (HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4 and a USB hub) can be a bit of a workout due to their placement.

The QD-OLED panel has a 5120×1440 resolution (dual QHD) which is sharp for gaming and detailed work. Colors are vibrant with deep blacks and bright whites thanks to DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. Unlike LED monitors this OLED doesn’t have light bleed so dark scenes in games or movies look super realistic. Brightness is around 250 nits for standard use and 1000 nits for HDR highlights which is plenty for most rooms unless you’re in direct sunlight. 100% sRGB coverage means accurate colors for creative tasks like photo editing and wide viewing angles (178° horizontal and vertical) means you can share the screen without losing quality.

For gamers, the G93SC has a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time. AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA Adaptive Sync eliminate screen tearing so you can game at max graphics. Its 32:9 aspect ratio draws you into the action, enabling you to see enemies or details in your peripheral vision. HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 supports latest consoles and PCs so it’s a great option for multi-platform gamers.

Beyond gaming, the screen real estate lets you run multiple apps at the same time like Excel, a web browser and a document editor all without having to switch between them. The monitor’s Auto Source Switch+ feature recognizes when you turn on a connected device like a laptop or PC and automatically switches inputs so you don’t have to navigate menus. Fine details are highlighted by the great resolution and color accuracy when doing jobs like video editing or coding.

The G93SC is a great deal for $899.99, down from its original MSRP of $1,599.99. It’s cheaper than LG’s 45-inch UltraGear OLED ($1,699.99) and has a bigger screen and similar performance. The lack of smart features may be a bummer for those who want streaming apps built-in but it’s a fair trade off for a monitor aimed at gaming and productivity. Compared to the G95SC which has Tizen OS and a remote the G93SC has almost identical image and performance for less so it’s the better option for most buyers.
