Makeyo MK01 3D-Printed Computer Case
Building a PC is like putting together a puzzle, each piece fitting together to create something that’s uniquely yours. The Makeyo MK01, a 3D printed mid-tower case by Maxime Cazaillon, turns this process into a playground of creativity.

This mid-tower case is 43 cm tall, 45 cm long and 23 cm wide, so compact but big enough for mini ITX or micro ATX motherboards. It can fit graphics cards up to 33 cm long, 14.5 cm wide and 9 cm thick, an ATX power supply, two 3.5-inch hard drives and one 2.5-inch drive (with room for more if needed). Cooling is handled smartly: two 120 mm fans can be mounted at the front, an 80 mm fan at the rear and perforated top and bottom panels to keep your components happy.

Printing the MK01 requires a 3D printer with at least a 21×21 cm build area, but a 25 cm diameter works too. You’ll need around 4 kg of filament—2 kg for the yellow top shell, 1 kg for the beige bottom shell and 1 kg for the gray internal frame. PLA or ABS recommended. If you want durability, ABS is recommended for the internal frame, as Cazaillon shows in a YouTube video where he showcases his own PLA printed MK01, running smoothly after 2 months of use. The material list also includes 132 10×2 mm magnets, an arcade-style 30 mm power button, M3 screws and nuts, #6-32 hex nuts, spacers and strong glue. A USB front panel is included, with a few more affordable options on Makeyo’s site.

The magnetized outer shells let you swap styles without reprinting the whole case. Want a sleek and minimalist look? Print a smooth shell. Feeling bold? Add curves or vibrant colors inspired by retro designs or sci-fi aesthetics, from Dieter Rams to Cyberpunk. With 75 parts in total, the case feels like a high-end model kit, so go wild. With the rounded edges and colorful shells against the utilitarian boxes that dominate the market, the MK01 makes you build a conversation piece. As All3DP says, this case taps into the growing trend of custom PC builds, a fresh and DIY way to make something personal yet accessible. At $18 for the digital files, it’s a budget friendly way to build a case as unique as your setup if you have a 3D printer or access to one.

Cazaillon’s vision goes beyond the MK01. His website hints at future projects, 3D printed lamps to customizable watches, all under the motto “Dream it, print it, make it yours”. The MK01 is the starting point, a bold step into a world where PC cases aren’t just functional but fun.
