The Philips Fidelio FT1 combines vinyl as well as CDs in one sleek package, and the quality is surprisingly natural. This turntable can play vinyl records at 33 1/3 and 45 rpm using a belt-driven system, and the CD tray at the front of the unit accepts CDs, including CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and MP3 discs. Using the front-facing buttons or the included software, you can easily choose between formats. When you have an album on both vinyl and CD, there is no need to use separate players.
The build quality is excellent, as the turntable features a strong die-cast aluminum platter that fits firmly on the chassis, as well as a thick rubber mat that reduces vibrations and helps keep the sound squeaky clean. The tonearm is a straight piece of extruded aluminum with a built-in counterweight for adjustment, and it holds a changeable Audio-Technica moving magnet cartridge that tracks the grooves quite reliably. Once you’ve finished playing a side, an auto-stop mechanism will lift the needle and pause the turntable, preventing you from prematurely wearing down the record or the motor.

The built-in phono stage feeds the signal to either an amplifier or some powered speakers via the RCA connections, thus connectivity is pretty good on this device. For wireless settings, Bluetooth 5.4 supports the LC3 codec and Auracast, allowing you to stream music from records or CDs to several compatible speakers or headphones at once, or just one. There’s also a little 3.5mm connector on the front for connecting wired headphones when you just want some alone time. The dimmable LED display shows the source, volume, and even the time when the device is sitting idle.

What’s really interesting is that Philips has gone to great lengths to employ long-lasting, environmentally friendly materials. The chassis is composed of recycled plastic that has been certified to RCS standards, and the packaging is entirely zero-waste and includes FSC-certified recycled cardboard instead of plastic. The controls feel sturdy, from the speed selector knob to the buttons for switching between sources, and the Philips Entertainment app allows you to control the device remotely and set up Auracast groups for larger systems.

When used with the matching Fidelio FA3 active speakers, the FT1 creates a system capable of full stereo playback without the need for additional cords. Although those speakers include bi-amplification, a 5inch glass fiber mid/bass driver, and a 1inch titanium tweeter each, the turntable still performs admirably on its own.
At a price of around €299 (roughly $352), this is an affordable choice for anyone who still enjoys removing their physical media from the shelf. The FT1 began shipping in the first quarter of 2026, and thus far, people have been really impressed with how adaptable it is without having to compromise on either format.
