Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7, slated to be revealed at the Unpacked event in New York City on July 9, 2025, is ready to polish the clamshell foldable game with some slick design tweaks and solid upgrades that hit all the right spots.

The star of the show is the revamped cover display. Ditching the folder-style outer screen of past models, the Z Flip 7 rocks a full 4-inch Dynamic AMOLED that wraps around the dual cameras, pulling a page from Motorola’s RAZR Ultra playbook. This bigger, edge-to-edge screen—up from the 3.6 inches in early leaks—gives you more room for notifications, widgets, and even full apps, a big jump from the limited app access of older Flips. Inside, the 6.9-inch 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED display, a smidge larger than the Z Flip 6’s 6.7 inches, keeps things buttery smooth with a barely-there crease thanks to Samsung’s latest display technologies.

Powering this foldable is the Exynos 2500 chip, a shift from the Snapdragon chips of yesteryear, paired with a beefier vapor chamber to keep things cool while you multitask or game. Some regions might get a souped-up Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, cranking up to 4.47GHz, but the Exynos 2500 should rule most markets, delivering snappy performance with 12GB of RAM and storage options from 256GB to 512GB. A bigger 4,300mAh battery, up from 4,000mAh, promises longer life, tackling a common gripe for foldable fans.

The cameras stick close to the Z Flip 6’s setup, with a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel ultrawide on the back. But a new 12-megapixel selfie cam swaps out the old 10-megapixel one, aiming for crisper self-portraits. The dual rear cameras now blend into the cover display with a sleek hole-punch design, ditching the old notched look for more screen space. Even without big hardware upgrades, Samsung’s photo software wizardry should make shots pop. Plus, DeX support—a first for the Flip line—lets you hook up to an external monitor for added productivity.

Aesthetically, the Z Flip 7 is sleeker, coming in at 166.6 x 75.2 x 6.9mm (9.1mm with the camera bump). You’ve got bold color choices like Blue Shadow, Jet Black, coral red, and maybe a mint exclusive, with more shades likely up for grabs on Samsung’s site.

Accessories are a big part of the Z Flip 7’s vibe, with leaked cases showing off style and smarts. The Clear Case keeps it simple with extra protection around the camera lenses. A MagSafe-style version brings wireless charging compatibility without built-in magnets, keeping costs down while playing nice with new gear. The Silicone Ring Case, in black, blue, coral red, and mint, adds a handy ring for better grip and one-handed use—perfect for folks always on the go. The fancy Kindsuit Case, wrapped in faux leather, comes in black, taupe, and camel for a steep $99 but oozes class. An anti-reflective screen protector, built to match Gorilla Glass Armor 2’s toughness, keeps the cover display safe.

A Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, a wallet-friendly version, is also in the works, possibly launching alongside the main model. Spigen’s case leaks hint it’ll share accessories with the Z Flip 7, though it might stick with the older folder-style cover screen and run an Exynos 2400e or 2500 chip. It’s all about bringing foldables to more people without skimping too much on the experience, though it might not hit shelves until later in 2025. Pricing for the standard Z Flip 7 should stay close to $1,099 for 256GB and $1,219 for 512GB, like the Z Flip 6, though some markets could see a slight bump.
