Samsung Galaxy Flex G Tri-Fold Prototype Previews Upcoming Galaxy G Fold Smartphone

Samsung Galaxy Flex G Prototype Tri-Fold Computex
Samsung Display’s big reveal of the Galaxy Flex G prototype at Computex 2025 gives us a sneak peek at the game-changing Galaxy G Fold. This tri-fold concept is Samsung throwing down the gauntlet, ready to shake up the foldable smartphone scene, one currently dominated by the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate.

The Flex G rocks a tri-fold design that bends inward at two hinges, folding into a neat G-shape that’s easy to slip into your pocket, unlike the Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate, as it focuses on keeping things compact. Unfold it, and you go from a 7.2-inch WQ+ screen (2560 x 1600, 420 ppi) to a massive 12.4-inch FHD+ display (1920 x 1200, 182 ppi), turning your phone into a tablet-sized playground. Leaks from One UI 8 hint that the Galaxy G Fold will follow suit with this dual-hinge, inward-folding setup.

Samsung Galaxy Flex G Prototype Tri-Fold Computex
The Flex G’s display tech is where it really shines. Samsung Display, the king of OLED, packed this prototype with a screen that pops with vivid colors and crisp contrast across all three sections. One UI 8 leaks show an intuitive interface that automatically shifts on the fly, with apps smoothly adapting to each fold.

Durability’s always a big question with foldables, and the Flex G seems ready to answer. Samsung Display hyped up beefier hinges and ultra-thin glass built to handle constant folding without breaking a sweat. At Computex, the prototype was put through its paces, folding and unfolding like a pro, which is a great sign for the Galaxy G Fold’s toughness.

The camera setup and overall look give us a taste of the Galaxy G Fold’s style. The Flex G prototype supposedly sports a back panel with four cameras, a setup backed by One UI 8 leaks. Samsung’s sticking with real cameras instead of under-display ones that can skimp on quality, showing they’re serious about photos.

Price and release are still up in the air, but the Flex G’s debut drops some hints. Word on the street is the Galaxy G Fold might top $2,500, and with The Bell reporting a Q4 2025 launch, we could see it steal the spotlight at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, 2025.
